Centre of Quranic Research (CQR) established in February 2010 in University of Malaya is the first of its kind in Malaysia. An awareness of raison d’tre of CQR is meaningful in appreciating its efforts in promoting Al-Quran and Islamic studies at both national and international levels. Efforts and contributions towards highlighting the magnificence of the Holy Quran is valuable indeed.
CQR aims to sustain and promote vital research in Quranic studies and Islamic research, as well as to explore any kind of research (Scientific research/education/heritage etc.), which can be related to Quranic and Islamic research. Scope of research under this centre could be varied with an active community of researchers, scholars and expertise working in collaboration across disciplines. To accomplish the goal, CQR conducts lectures, conferences & symposium on various topics to inculcate better understanding of Islam and its teaching based on Al-Quran and Hadith.
